C. “The Fall” by Albert Camus:  This 1956 novel by the French philosopher was eluded to in Arthur Miller’s autobiography, “Time Bends.”  Like “After the Fall,” it explores themes of responsibility to others and the effects of a “fall from grace” situation.  The novel and the play share structural similarities as one involves primarily one speaker and the other one uses a single speaker exclusively.
